D-17 Clutch?

   Kinda new to this --I bought a D-17 about 4 years ago not sure what year it is - SN 25394 - anyway it has been a workhorse for me -
While using it last weekend - clutch went out - or so I think --- I could not get it in gear - I had to stop it put it in gear and start it -- when I pushed on the foot clutch - it just kept going.  Is there a clutch adjustment? - I have some what of a manual not the best -- it says that I have to split the tractor to gain access to the clutch? -- not sure I can do that.
It would seem that a clutch just would go out that fast- can it be something else?
If it is the clutch where can you go to get parts and instructions on how to repair it - I have torn down engines before but usually had very good instructions. Any advice is very much appreciated --- Thanks

	I would check the rod that goes from the clutch pedal forward to the clutch housing it is threaded inside there and sometimes it strips out. you can also look from the clutch inspection hole underneath the tractor and have someone push in on the clutch pedal so you can see what is going on inside of it.

	I would check the clutch housing for mouse nests. That happened on a Farmall a few weeks ago. Remove the inspection cover on the bottom and shine a light inside. Pull out any crud that does not belong.
