What is hid lighting? I know that I just ordered three of the back lights for our 8000s at 60.00 each. Our dealer was having a sale?? We bought an extra, who knows how much they will be in a year or two. Just glad we can still get them. rieg swoh

High intensity discharge lights. I cannot speak to the 8000, but a lot of the guys on the Redpower site and the newagtalk sites have done their tractors with the conversion kits. If the lights aren't sealed beam, many can be converted. The kits have a separate ballast that has to be mounted remotely from the light. You can also get conversion bulbs to replace the sealed beam lights that will take halogen or HID bulbs. I just replaced the 4411 sealed beams in my Case 930 with some halogen conversions. I may go to HID if they aren't bright enough by getting one of the conversion kits. Stay in the 3 to 4500K range on the light color though or it gets really blue looking.

We have HID lights on our combine, and like them. They are a different light than the yellow looking halogens. Look to be clear from close up, but from far away looking at them they look blue.
