I like your Idea. Could it be mounted infront on the radiator behind the grill? I was having cooling issues but took out most of the water/orange antifreeze mix. and put in water wetter and just water. Now it don't heat up any more. I was thinking of using a electric fan infront of the radiator to cool down inbetween pulls. Thaught I had enough room.

I like to keep installations clean and neat. It just looks like a after thought to me even though it was in the plan from the start.

Can you have braided steel lines made? I guess it depends on if there are right angle or other ends available to keep from kinking.

If you use a simple tubing Bender, you can make nice clean, bends, and easily put the cooler behind the grille and not risk getting the tubing snagged, or risk it flapping around loose.

It would be alot of repluming but I bet the filter housing could fit inside the frame where the Hydrolic pump was. It might be nice to try it out before you where to do anything else to the system. You may need to modify it. Its a great idea.

you will have to cut the bottom of the grill shell to get 3/8 od line up between it plus the inlet/outlets have to be at the top or cooler can trap air and cause cavitation. I could use pipe and 90 degree fittings to get it turned down before going to flare fittings.

Two bulkhead fittings (flared or compression) mounted in 3/8" holes drilled in the bottom side of the grille shell would work well. The cooler could be plumbed as one piece inside the grille, and be connected on the outside with two fittings when mounted. Plenty of room to bend loops in the tubing at the top of the cooler to minimize joints as well. Just a thought.

I guess I'd be concerned about how many seconds it takes to establish oil pressure each time the engine is started with a mile of plumbing....I have one of my engines "hard -blocked" and have always felt if I had to make more than three runs at an event I'd drop the oil in a clean jug and refill with cold oil (keep the two jugs and alternate which oil is in the engine). I run stock RPM's and not "open" RPM's so I've never needed to do that.

Dr. the oil filter being turned down so it will not drain back 2 quarts in the oil cooler . Also the oil pressure is brought up before its ran lines charged with oil so they are no seconds waiting on oil pressure. the old style d17 pump will supply several psi so thats why we have the hp1 performance filter on her.
