I bought a replacement cable for a 58 diesel tachometer but on the end going into the side of the block the hole looks to be round not 4 sided like the cable .What am i missing here.The piece in the block rotates with tractor running.Anyone ?

the original cables where round with a key made into it the new ones are square and require an adaptor they are usualy made of plastic good luck
