I have been thinking of growing a little wheat next year, but I have a slight problem. I have both a A2 (set up for corn with a 330 corn head) and a F set up for beans with a 13 foot bean platform. I know beans take less cylinder rpm than corn or wheat, but I don't have a platform for the A2 yet. I also don't have wheat sieves for either of them. Which combine would be the better one to set up for wheat. I have found an adapter that puts an E3 head on an A2.

Adam, I'd think it will cost less to get the "F" setup for wheat. All you will need is the sieves and there are some guys on here that can come up with one or you can call Cook Tractor and get a good one from them, Here's there link.
I know of a 12' "A" wheat head in South MO. you can buy but that's a long ways for you to go.

Adam - most definitely the F would be the best to do wheat in terms of cheap & easy to set for. Unless your F came with a long square finger corn chaffer, you don't need to add anything to harvest wheat other than sprockets/pulleys to speed up the cylinder then set your adjustments. Corn & beans take similar (slow) speeds. You'll want about 1200-1300 rpms for wheat. I set my clearance down bout 1/4 to 3/8's inch. Should be pretty simple to do. Mike

Mike is right on about the pulleys or sprockets. I was thinking pulleys or sheaves and typed sieves. Sorry about that. Your book will give you the size pulleys needed for wheat.
