My D-14's wheels have finally decided they've had enough. I think there's been a few slow leaks over the years in the tubes and the chloride has ate them up pretty bad. I want to buy some new ones. Where should a guy look? Where's the best buy? Maybe someone has some new ones they don't need? Let me know what you think!

Thanks!

I got new ones from Moore Tire in Rockfalls Illinois. See the link. They had spin out rims on hand and were $100 cheaper than Steiner tractor.

13.6X26" tires are hard to come by around here; and expensive when found. My D15 had bad rear tires, I found a decent pair of 16.9X26 tires on combine rims at a nearby salvage yard; my rims were still good, so I swapped the tires unto my rims. Since the front tires were on the down side, and I have a loader on the tractor, I purchased new (larger) rims and 6.50X16 front tires at the same time. The tractor looks "tough" with the bigger tires and I am satisfied with how well it performs.

A few folks around here have converted their D14s and D15s over to 28" tires and rims from a WD or WD45. The rims/centers from a WD or WD45 bolt right on. They tell me that it does not noticeably affect the tractor's perfomance and they do not look "out of place" either.

I updated my profile with location. Also, has anyone put 14.9 26 tires on they're D14? How much taller are they?

I would think 14.9-26's might have been an option or should have been.

Here is a comparison of 13.6 X 26 on my D14, and 14.9 X26 or 13.6 X26 combine wheels and tires.  The 14.9 are 5" taller .

Here are some on my backhoe, I am going to drill more fenders holes to move fenders in so I can have more clearance. It just fits between fenders. They do make a D14 look smaller !!   I will keep 13's on the other 14.

Wow, I didn't realize they'd be about 5" taller!  Wonder how much it will affect the gearing?? I wouldn't mind if it was a little taller geared. This tractor will still be a part time worker. I use it with a rotary mower, belly mount sickle mower, and I have a small cultivator I'm going to start using to farm between my windbreak rows once I get new tires and rims.

My 58 D14 came with 14.9x 26 (option) and my 59 has 13.6.  Doesn't look like there is much difference, but have not had them side by side yet for comparison.

5 inches taller ought to really speed it up on the road. I don't know about new tires, but used 26's are plentiful in Colfax Tractor Parts' yard.

I have 14.9's on my D14 and I think they look better than the 13.6 that came out on it. They are probably no more than a couple inches difference.JP
