I am also having problems with the PTO on our 6080 kicking out when pulling a discbine! Does anyone know what is causing my problem? you have to idle tractor down and sometimes it takes 5 or 6 tries to get it to turn back on audible clicking noise like cards in bicycle spokes when it doesn't engage!

If it's the shifter to the left of the seat, the splines are possibly burred on the shaft from grinding it in gear over the years. Must remove cover under the platform and dress up the splines to insure full engagement. The problem is lack of full engaement....could also be a bent lever?? under the platform??

I know it's a long shot but we used to get into troubles with a 6080 with the factory cab on it. The cab mount's would wear quite regular and one of the tell tale sign's used to be that the pto would not engage all the way. They finally put a set of the open station mount's in there place and was never a porblem again.

I had the pin that holds the lever on the shaft sticking out the side of the transmission partly shear off and was only engaging the collar a little on mine. Moved the detent hole in the plate over to allow the collar to slide further. Worked great for about 4 years until the pin sheared off completely and then I had to move the detent hole back to where it had been!
