Nephew says his 7050 oil cooler is leaking oil on the outer side, Says the housing must be deteriating.  I don't have a repair manual for it but the 8030/8050/8070 book shows weep holes from between the oil and water seals.
Question, is the 7050 oil cooler the same as an 8050 oil cooler?

Somebody had said the coolers were aluminum. and another fellow said the 7050 were cast steel.
Tractor is 8 miles from me and am trying to figure out what needs to be done to it to stop this oil weep.

I'm busy right now getting my injection pump for my early XT rebuilt because of bad gov. plastic ring and shaft seals. Also pulled injectors to test them out and the Rajay turbo is being taken off.  The seals in the turbo are totally shot, Oil was running down the intake manifold and blowing out the exhaust stack too. Then discovered housing at the flange is broke so... Now need to retrofit an AiResearch TO4B80  on and get it plumbed in.  Discovered the series III was plumbed a little different. Were there any 190's that had the line from the block to the AR turbo instead of from the cooler  or should I replumb the cooler connection to be like the series III/200?
OK so it was more than one question on two different issues. JC

My 7050 is doing the same thing. It's on the list. Couldn't tell you yet if they are cast steel or not. Dr. allis should be able to help you out if he sees your post.

Old 7030/7050's were cast iron housings and later ones were aluminum and everything since 1974 were aluminum on ALL models. It just needs new O-rings installed......usually the housings are fine. There is a proper way to install these, so pay attention when disassembling.

Thanks Doc,
Talked to my nephew again tonight, says its weeping oil in the middle of the outter side housing. Maybe I will have to take a good visual of this cooler and see what its really doing.
We already put an order in for new seals and gaskets for cooler, also a new TO4B90 turbo and center section of manifold for it. He said they were junk too.
