AGCO or aftermarket? Is there a quality difference? Friend of mine bought a hydraulic cylinder kit from Cat for his trackhoe for something like $500 and when it came the part numbers on each seal was the same and looked the same as the aftermarket kit he bought for the other cylinder at the same time. After market was less than $200. Is AGCO going to just mark up a seal kit that they get from the same supplier as AGParts or Steiner?

Agco and ALL the bigs DO NOT MAKE PARTS out side of housing and gears - and some of that is outsourced.  It is like the customer who went to Moline and watched his American made tractor being built - then got to looking out back and saw crates from France, Brazil and China galore.  We pick and choose. Some customers specify - I want the 'good stuff' now so we use Agco - they do have 1 year warr and all parts - but it is the same seals as A&I and others. Cessna stuff - who ever supplies this.  The 20-xxxx #s are from the old Oliver stuff. Takes mulitples - the 24d0001 is about $250 and includes seal for the newer pumps...

In the last couple of years, I have resealed a 180 and 185 hydraulic pump and got the seal kits from A & I. Was happy with the parts and both pumps work well.
