Still trying to decide on which aux. pump to use on my WD. Would a 2 stage pump even be worth considering?
I don't have any links for examples yet.
They are supposed to use less HP but max rpm is 3600.
I have to work around 1600 rpm max if Im not mistaken.
I have the loader now and I'm trying to get my head wrapped around how I am going to do it. If I get it put together in my head first I'm good.
I have to get this pump issue straightened out first.
 
I haven't had time to work on it much because everything else around here is falling apart. Get one thing fixed and 3 other things blow up.
 
Any ideas?

I kinda remember your post about this but never understood why you want to add a pump. Do you want to run 2 way cylinders? I have seen people us a 2 way valve and plumb the return line through a filter and into the drain of the sump via a tee.
 What kind of loader cylinders do you have? Are they low pressure cylinders that won't handle the pressure of your WD's  original pump? Way more information is needed to recommend a pump.

Sorry if there was a lack of info. Yes, I want to make it 2 way on the lift and bucket.
I have a #170 loader with a one way lift and a 2way bucket cylinder as it sits right now.
 
I want live hydraulics for the loader. The 2 way on the bucket is pretty much junk and 2 lift cylinders leak like a bad toilet and they dont look to have a vent tube to make them 2 way. They can all be replaced. 
That's why I was asking about the pump. If the pump decision is straighted out I can go from there. I just asked about a 2 stage pump.
Yes, no, maybe or you are too stupid to even consider it.
That's all I want.
I just want direction as to what works and what doesn't.

I'm not a hydraulics expert but I'll give you my opinion. The 2 stage pump probably won't give you any advantage. The second stage would be for a low powered log splitter and kicks in when you run short of power to move things at the higher flow rate. The 3600 rpm is because that is the governed speed of many small engines. If you are thinking of going direct drive off the front of the crankshaft, you will want a pump rated at 1650 rpm at most. You need good gallons per minute at that speed, I would think 16 to 20 maybe.
 The WD has live hydraulics unless you hand clutch doesn't work, but you would need to add a pair of 2way valves and a return line to use the WD pump. I guess  you will need the valves anyway so that's a wash, but you might need to add some capacity to the reservoir. There are 2 way cylinders out there that would work with the WD system and give you plenty of lifting power.
 If you go with an add on pump you need to figure out what GPM you need and what pressure you want to run the system at, that will lead you to how much HP you will be using to do the work. That's why they have engineers I guess.
 I would look around for one of the pumps that guys put on Farmall M's for live power. It will mount between your Mag and the governor and makes a pretty clean easy set up.
 Now where will your reservoir be? In the frame of the loader? Hanging off the front bolster? You could tie into the transmission and differential and add filter and run hytran fluid back there. Just lots of things to figure out before you start spending money on something that won't pan out.  Charlie
