Coupla questions.
#1 Was there an A-C Model 170 front end loader?
#2 If so, was it built by New Idea?
I have a loader that came on a WD-45 I bought several years ago.
It seems a little big for a WD-45 and it was "cobbed" to fit it.
The main lift arms have a tag that has been painted over several times
which says Allis-Chalmers with what appears to be model 170.
The frame which bolts to the tractor has a plate that says New Idea
Model 506, Lot #ML-113, Ser. # 681.
Are these supposed to go together or is it more likely that someone combined parts from the two to make one?
Thanks

Well, I've come to the conclusion that the loader arms are New Idea and the frame that bolts to the tractor is A-C; I had that reversed in my original post. This should be a good match for the D-17 I picked up this past winter.
Altho the seller "threw in" a New Idea loader that he had used on the D-17, I believe
this one is built much more ruggedly.
I will attempt to send pictures later.

Would have to see a pic because I am putting a #170 on mine and the main frame on the tractor fit like a glove. Looks decent also. The part that hangs off the axle is questionable, but that can be changed.
