I  bought an NOS JLO 295 for our tiger, set the timing as the manual instructed but I have a loud pinging sound at medium to high RPM. To me it sounds like the timing is to far advanced. I'm checking to see what you guy's or gal's think before I take it back out.   Thanks Dave.

Whats the spark plug color showing? If carb is set to lean they can do that also. Timing is a pain to set on them. And it could need timing changed again. We had our last one in and out a couple times to get timing right.

Jeff  I do have carb set a little rich to get more oil to the new engine. I was hoping I would not have to retime it but it looks like i'll have to. Thanks Dave.
