Hello. Well good news, finally got to plow with my 'new' D-14.Hooked up to the plow and away we go....didn't have to adjust a thing...SC rules!!
One  problem...the spring on the carb link  flew off while going down the road, not a big deal, I'll grab the one on the '57 D-14....hmmm it's MIA as well, in two pieces on the ground! Rusted....hmm, where does it hook onto ???
I recall the spring goes from the hole in the carb link BACK towards the gas tank, hooks onto the manifold stud, right ?, wrong? My I+T manual doesn't show it, so can someone please say where it goes and how much tension it should have(light,medium,heavy ?)

Jay, just checked my D14. Spring runs forward (toward radiator) from the carb link. Can't say for sure where it's supposed to attach - mine is attached to the gennie bracket. The spring is definitely not the specified part, either, but it all works! I'd describe the tension on this spring as medium - seems heavier than I would have expected it to be, so maybe "light" is the righter answer. HTH

If you are referring to the anti surge spring?  It goes from the rod between governor and carb, up to one of the manifold studs.  The spring is still available through AGCO, al though it is a little pricey.

Thanks guys. I thought I had a 50-50 chance of being right(to the back studs...) but was wrong ! Then again, what were the odds of BOTH springs on BOTH D-14s breaking the same day !!
Think I'll see what my 'parts dept.' has before I order TWO springs from AGCO($$$$).
