Got a few questions regarding a Model C with Woods mower. The hold position on the pump does not hold. It creaps down within minutes, I have tightened the packing nut on the hydraulic ram which has not helped. I am familiar with the CA/WD style pumps but am unfamilar with this style of pump. Does somebody have a picture of this pump and some tips to share. Is this a self priming pump? Where is the hold valve? How can I test a cylinder to see if it leaking? On the CA/WD pumps there is the drain on back of the pump that I drain regular and get lots of junk out of it, is there one for the C? Lastly, when the cylinder is raised the "triangle" of the mower hits the starter. I have downloaded the book, but can't seem to see if there is a spacer or something I am missing. Does somebody have a picture of this setup on a C?

The Hydraulic Cylinder is a displacment type cylinder. If it is leaking it will be external. The hold control is in the pump. The rotating shaft that sticks out the right side just has a slot in it. Take the pump off its just 4 bolts and lay on the bench.carefully dissasemble and clean it out. those plugs on the top have springs and check balls the bottm plugs have check balls. get it real clean and reassemble.
