White top rotobaler with hydraulic cylinder to move table from transport to working position. All safety screens seem to be there as well as most of the paint. Shoot, the one tire is only flat on the bottom. Somebody needs to save that one from the the scrapper

I owned one like that and sold it to the Schoen boys in Lanesville Indiana. They baled straw at the Lanesville Heritage weekend. Really neat watching it work.

I had forgotten the newer builds had a clevis hitch rather than the older ball type as in the all crop...along with the hated shields. Most of the second production sat on dealers lots for years ... two were in a shed new, in Russellville, Ky in the early '80's... Remember putting on a few of the 'soft center' attachments with my Dad who did the Roto-Baler service calls for Chenoweth Equip in the '60's. Putting on the covers for short hay on the 'stuffer shaft' , adjusting the twine arm and tension, the sound of the conveyor kicking in and out and the sound of the needle dropping... geez that was 60 years ago... Dad found an over drive for it the year before he went to square and big round bales. Dusty fields and dusty memories.

There were sheet metal covers that bolted on the metal plates welded to the shaft in front of the large front roller. This made a solid beater out of the otherwise open area. For really short hay like short Lespedeza .

I wouldn't mind having one of these to play with. have a few acres of grass that could be baled, an Allis rake that could be made to work, and an 82 T mower. Who knows what kind of silliness might come to pass after I retire? Be a fun way to keep my little pumpkins working! Maybe even get some video to post on YouTube for my handful of subscribers.

As long as I had someone to haul them for me, I could make thousands of roto bales. I love making them. A few years ago, I did get in on a pretty good custom roto baling gig for a horse guy and his wife. Hay was cut for me in nearly perfect windrows, and this couple and their hired hand hauled em, and I baled up close to a thousand of them for them. Darrel

Back when I was doing them, I figured a way to pick them up with less labor. Had a snowplow on a 4x4 4 wheeler, go to the middle of the field, drop the plow, push as many in a row as I could, toward the outer edge, repeat the other direction. If there were any stragglers, push them towards the pile you just pushed outward, repeat as necessary. Saved a whole lotta walking, thataway...
