I replaced the steering rack and went better than I expected, thanks to all of you and your great tips. Here is a pic of my adventure. Does any one know why it broke or is that a common problem with d17s.

Common?? no.....but it has always been my experience to be on a loader tractor. Also at a certain serial number the area affected was beefed up a bit. You'd think those parts would last longer than 40 or 50 years, wouldn't you??
