mine came apart- and the local stores dont have one- it is the pin you depress for the PTO to slide in.
 
it is not the american standard one that i bought

Clint - is it the old-fashioned kind with the little clip to retain the spring?  Hard to find them now, NAPA used to carry them but not so sure they do anymore.  You can buy them on-line in packs of 10 pretty cheap each.  I know this subject came up sometime in the last year.  An example on-line source is below...first one I pulled from Google.  Mike
