I am thinking of updating the 500 loader on my 180, anyone here deal with Washburn Co out of Lamar Missouri as to buying a Skid Steer attachment head? Price is good at $475 + shipping and I can then use bobcat style attachments on the loader(If it is as good as being touted).

Please keep me posted with your investigation on this. I have 500 loader that I want to do the same. I was going to "convert" my manure bucket to forks, but also thought a mounting plate adaption would be better so as to make it more usefull ie. bucket, forks, etc. Thanks.

i have sent them a e-mail as to mods to use the pin style on a 500 loader, I hope to hear from them in a day or so. I also asked a couple questions on the attachment set up, I will enter their responses when they come.

John Dilg did that on his 175. The adapter pins in the same spots as the bucket. You can then use any attachments that are designed for the adapter. You will also need a new bucket or adapt the 500 loader to use with the adapter. The only caveat is that you move your load ahead about 4 inches, but that isn't much of an issue. keep the sliding pins on the adapter well greased so they don't rust tight.

Well I ordered a unit, should be here in a few days. Only mod I had done was to add pipe section bolt collars to the inside of the inside bracket so I could use my existing pins. I will post photos when I get it installed. I may opt for a newer bucket to keep from modifying the OE AC bucket, I am definitely getting a pallet fork/bale spear head for it just later this summer.

you will probably hear from Scott or Allen, they are the owners and do the responses to e-mails. Scott called me directly to talk out the mods I asked for, going to weld install bolt bosses(tube sections x-drilled) to bolt my pins in place through. He stated it was a common practice for them to do. I expect it in a few days to a week if they have one ready save the adjustable pin plates, my dimensions I sent him should work for any 500 loader. I expect the weld-on bolt boss tube pieces to work better than the original angle brackets; again I will put photos up when I get it and am putting it on.
The head will be truck freighted, UPS cannot handle the weight and they will not truck freight deliver to a residential address so I arranged for it to go to a local tractor dealer for unload. |
