I would like to paint my  "59 D17 gas this year. Many of you have commented on my 7080 and WD45, (Dans sweet 7080, More sweet 7080, and Dan 7080s WD45 puller) so I was just curious on what to do with my 17. I was thinking of blacking out the belly as i did with my 45. I know it wouldnt be a collector restore, but i like to have different stuff (as you can see from my pics). So i guess my question is should i paint it back stock, black out the belly, or ?????. Any body have any ideas? Im up for any and all suggestions.
Thanks, Dans 7080

Well it's a working tractor so I wouldn't worry about pleaseing the correct police. Paint it any way that make you happy. Now if you were painting it to resell and make money on then I would say make it as close as original as you could.
