Jim Palmer, Kenny L and I witnessed this today. Will M was driving, got a little excited and found this in his rear view mirror.

That happened to me last week at 3:30 am.  Didn't know until I saw the cherries!  Fortunately, he was in a good mood and gave me a ticket for $52.  Could have been (and should have been) a whole lot more!  I did thank him kindly.

Let's see, a borrowed trailer with almost expired tags, a borrowed pickup who is registered to somebody different than the trailer, doing 11 mph over the speed limit heading out of town(I swore we were out of town, heck we just passed a farm place) in a different state 2 + hours from home and 3 hooligans in the pickup with me.....Barney comes up and asks me if there was any legal reason why I was doing 11 over the speed limit....ah yea, because we were coming out of town and I was speeding up (that is what we do in IA...from the back seat....) and I saw the 35mph speed limit about the same time I saw you...  I am lucky Andy and Barney (there were 2 of them in the cop car on a Sunday morning, must be one heck of a town) let me go with out having me spread eagle on the ground next to the trailer with a gun next to my head and that I am still not sitting in the local jail....I swear it took them a 1/2 to run my license.

The young officer was very nice but also very quiet as he didn't say a lot.   He must have been in training or something. He didn't even have a name badge on.  It just was a very different type of stop.  Just reminded me of the "sterotypical" shows that you see on TV.  2 officers in the car on the outskirts of town sitting on a road.  He told me he would only give me a warning if my license came back clean. Yea right, I don't have any arrest warrants out there but I sure don't have a squeaky clean driving record over the years either, was trying to remember the last time I did get to visit with one of Iowa's finest in his car.....

He really stopped you because of the whiskey dent in the tailgate.

OK, I gotta ask, what is a whiskey dent? Just a dent earned while enjoying a corn based beverage? I haven't heard that phrase in Iowa before, but it could get imported.
If it weren't for the last minute, I wouldn't get anything done!
