Does anyone have any experience with the Massey 6170 or 6180?  Very similar to the Agco Allis 8775.
Are they a good machine?
Not trying to PO anybody.  Just looking for an honest opinion.

They are a good tractor, a couple things to check would be if the computer has been upgraded from the datatronic to the datatronic kit.  Also a good idea to check the front axle oscillation bushings.  If the bushings are worn bad enough it can cause issues with the FWA shaft to front axle pinion coupler and/or cause the pinion splines to strip off.  This is a common issue with tractors with a loader as not too many people know how to grease the front axle, if they do at all.  Other than that nothing else comes to mind.

What do you mean by the proper way to grease the front end.
I know on our Deutz Allis 6250, I grease top and bottom at the pivot point as well as two points in the universal joint.
In the past I used to put a lot of grease in.  I have since been told that too much grease can open the seals so I grease often in moderation now.

If the tractor has a loader lift the weight off the front end using the loader so when greased the grease can get to the top side of the pivot, which is where the friction is.  Some of the units have a machined gallery (lack of better words) that the grease gets directed through to the top side of the bushing from the grease nipple but once the old grease in the gallery gets hard it doesnt work so good.

Is that the same front axle setup as the 9600 series?

I appreciate that Tyler.  That is good to know.
I would think that would apply to any tractor Mojo.
I will be passing this tidbit around.
