    Posted: 13 Feb 2010 at 5:14am
I have a WD 45 puller and pull 3 1/2 mph classes in Southern MD.  I was wondering what a Vinson manifold is and if I need one?  If these aren't 45 compatible I at least wanted to settle my curiosity.  Thanks very much and I havent been on the forum for a while.  Glad to be back with good folks.

I used one on my D17 And many friends have used them. They make two difernt ones. Threaded and non threaded exhaust hole. Most the people I know say they are better built than the inported ones.

Well that about covers it.  I believe I cleaned out the one I put on my 45 several years ago to make it flow better and it gives me what I need for low end torque.  It was a decent shape original off of the tractor.  Thanks for the info and have a great day.  Kevin

Yes, There are Vinson manifolds for the WD45 . I don't think you will notice any difference in performance but at least they are  American made.

You can take the new manifold to a race car engine machine shop and they always have ideas on how to improve them for better flow.
Kinda like a 3 angle valve job verses a standard one.
Every little bit helps.
PS: They can also work wonders with the heads. That's where you can get some HP.
Don't know what is legal for your class as far as modifications go.

There is an old saying in racing. If your not winning your not cheating enough.
The other guy is. LOL
