Does anyone know when they changed the dash lights on the 7000 series from the round individual lights to the rectangular cluster? Just curious because I have tractors with both.

Probably in 77 or 78 when the paint scheme and cab style changed

I thought it was with the change from maroon to black belly, but apparently some of the late maroon bellies had the rectangular lights.

I think around 76. we had a 75 7000 with individual lights, and a 76 7040 with the cluster. both obviously maroon chassis tractors. hth, Ed.

My 7050 and one 7060 had the individuals, and my other 7060 has the cluster and i beleive its a 76. I was just didnt know if someone put a black belly dash in or if they changed it before they switched to black. It was a wiring mess back there when i split it. thanks

I thought i might also add that my 7050 has a fiberglass roof maybe plastic, when my 7060 has a metal one. The 7050 is a '74' and the 7060 is a '76'. Would this be a aftermarket? I wish it had a metal roof that other thing is breaking around the edges.

1976 is the year Allis patented the hour meter technology that would record a truer reading. That could be the year they installed the new technology along with the cluster gauge. My old 7050 records wether or not the tractor is running. I think I've added about 500 hours to mine by me or my Dad forgetting to turn the key off. I bet the previous owner did the same. I sure like that tractor.

The cab roofs were changed at some point, maybe at same time they moved the flasher lights from the cab top to just below the cab top?

The plastic cab roofs can be changed to a metal one with no problems other than moving the warning flashers to the cab. I did a 7050.

I guess I never noticed that the flashers were in different places. I just figured that the plastic top would be a newer thing, didn't figure they would go from plastic to metal. thanks
