My wife & I were in an antique shop in LaCrosse, WI earlier this month and I came across a Life magazine with a two page article about the big AC workers' strike of 1946.  There are photos of the outside of the plant, a C on the assembly line, cars being burned & rocks thrown.  The text of the article  gives a good description of the strike.  The issue date of the magazine is February 3, 1947.  Life magazines are pretty available in antique shops and flea markets.  If you can't remember the issue date just look for three pretty girls on a toboggan on the front cover.   Mitch & Barb in West Michigan
