What is the rod running from the steering pedistal toward the rear axle?

Rick it's hard to really see it but it appears to be a manufactured piece, probably aftermarket, but not a farmer adaptation but your's is the best guess we've had so far.

Could be remnants of another attachment or a heat houser apron.
Before the WD snap coupler setup, Allis listers attached with some brackets at the front but the brace was not quite like that.  Other manufacturers may have also had their own designs to adapt mounted equipment.

  have seen loader brackets mounted that way  super six was brand
