WD_45 jumping out of gear?

When trying out a 45 in someone's barn lot, is there a way to tell if it is prone to jumping out of gear?  (accelerating, then decelerating quickly, etc).  I've seen posts from time to time about tractors doing that and how to correct it, but I'd rather not buy one that does it (or at least get a really good deal, knowing it will have to be fixed)

I have reworked the detent rails and made them gear in a little deeper. If I bought a 14 or 15 that didn't jump out of gear I would make it gear in deeper just to avoid problems later. I they had done this at the factory AC's probably could have avoided this bad tranny publicity.JP

I'm with Jack on the trans repair. Run the tractor down a hill in 3 gear let it free wheel(decelerate the throttle a little bit) you will know then. Might ck the brakes first. lol
