The only difference between the early and late D10/12 manifolds is the throat up from the carburetor. If you get an early one, just bore out the throat. The early ones were about 5/8" and the later ones were about the size of the hole in the gasket. 
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
