Can the 180 D water pump be changed without removing the sheet metal? Thanks...Dale

Dale - when I did mine I removed the hood, small front side filler panels & the grill. I did not have to remove the big U shaped sheet metal that shrouds the radiator. I also removed the radiator. Made life VERY easy at that point. Mike

Thanks Mike. The debate was to tackle it at the farm or bring it home to the shop. Like the shop idea better.....Dale

Dale - did all mine with the engine end of the tractor parked under one end of a carport cover out in the open. Only took some hand tools and maybe a couple of hours. I took that opportunity to flush the block & radiator clean and put in good CAT ELC coolant 50/50 mixed with distilled water. Mike

You can loosen the hood and set it up on the muffler out of the way. Sure is a bugger to lift off and back on by yourself. I have done this three times to my 185. Has 4700 hours now. Bill

That was the biggest mistake with the 100 series. All those nuts and bolts to remove, in addition to that bulky hood. The D series before and 6000s after had it right. Put the wrenches away!
