    Posted: 28 Feb 2024 at 10:17pm
I am working on a 1961 Allis D12 with the PTO hydraulic pump and I cannot get it to make any pressure. I have bled quart and a half of oil out of the hydraulic ram hose but I cannot get it to pump any kind of pressure. Any ideas??

This is the first running of a restoration and I have no information on whether the pump ever worked before the restoration was started.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Possibly the traction booster is stuck not permitting oil to flow?

I had one of those pumps that was worn badly and it pumped the oil past its drive shaft back into rear housing of the tractor.

If its the gear pump on rear of housing ,check pressure with a flowmeter  directly off pump  this tells u what pump is doing before relief valve .If its this pump make sure suction screen is clean on pick up tube.

It’s the 4 plunger pump, is there any special priming process for them?
I get a slow oil flow out of the ramp hose when loosened, but no high pressure.

Fill compartment with oil---self priming.   Screw "D" must be clear OUT.
