My tach on the 170 doesn't quite work. I replaced the cable because the tip was broke at the tach. The new cable makes the tach work a bit but it sounds like some internal gears are grinding or slipping. It only shows about 500 or 1000 rpms when up to operating speed, and the tach needle pointer is broke too. I can't find a replacement. The replacements are for 180, 190, etc. Can mine be rebuilt? Can I use the 180 tach that's for sale? Thanks.

There are parts to reuild the drive on the tach - the 180 will turn in the correct direction and uses the same Alt.
