Swap HD5G idler bearings

After good workout with track wrench I got enough slack to pull the track off.



Is it feasible to try to home make press to remove shaft, and, if possible, is installing the bearing in the replacement idler possible for a rank amateur? 

Thanks for any ideas!

Once you get the shaft pressed out the rest is easy; you may need to re-adjust the shims for proper bearing clearance but that should be minimal.

We ran our press up to 40 tons of force as registered on the gauge to get my Son-in-law's idler apart.

At that point i bought the cups but could not find the cone bearing and said it's going to the shop where they know what they are doing as they also had the bearings 
  Ended up dropped it off one day and picked it up the next .
