I have a 2020 LC that has been setting in the barn covered up since about 2007 . What should I do to get it started again without ruining or tearing up something ?

Dump the fuel, dump the engine oil. New fuel filter and oil filter. Give it a good 12V source for cranking and give it a shot. Carb could be loaded up, but maybe not. I would try running it first.
