Hello, I have a 6080 y'all helped me finish the rebuild on. I have a silly question.
Do you check engine oil on running side or stopped side? Stopped says full. Running says middle range. Just making sure I'm not missing anything. |

Is the tractor running or stopped? I always check oil at the start of the day, with engine off, and the oil is cold.

Reads full cold. Low running. That is why I'm asking this question. I was a little confused.
Thanks! |

The dipsticks on those engines were made so you COULD check the oil when at operating temperature on the level while IDLING. More of a gen set or irrigation pump application. You have no reason to do it that way !!! Check it cold, sitting still and not running.
