Looking to upgrade my D17 series I to the petronix pointless ignition. Positive ground tractor (unsure if that affects anything) basically looking for the answer to some simple questions as I'm finding multiple answers to each.
1- 1.5 or 3ohm internal resistance coil?
2- resistor type or standard plug wires?
3- will it need an external ballast resistor?
If anyone has part numbers or a specific kit that would be great.

switch to 12v neg ground.  3 ohm internal resisted coil, eliminates external one.  cant remember on plug wires,  think resisted

INfo above correct.  Switch to the negative ground.  The positive ground have a problem with no overvoltage protection and often die with too hot a charger/jumpstarter. Resistor wires (automotive style) preferred.   We stock all but the wires.

As Jim said, all correct info above. We have all in stock including the wires. I make the wire sets for each model Tractor. Resistor wires for the E.I. applications...
