Take it to a good local hydraulic shop. I am sure they could rebuild it. Never heard of one that is non rebuildable.

John Deere couldn't rebuild the header lift cylinders on the L3. Or they said they couldn't. Maybe they just didn't want that amazing Silver combine on their lot, for fear they'd be flooded with buyers!

These cylinders are commonly about $150, used, on ebay and elsewhere. My hydro shop here gets about $200 for a cylinder rebuild that size, after claiming they need to make a new rod. Careful as you ask around, and get a quote before they do the work.

It sure looks like its non rebuildable there is nothing to take apart on rod end and outer housing is welded like that's how it was assembled. Also service manual and parts manual both state "must replace entire unit" If there is something im not seeing advice would be appreciated.

A hydro shop would put it on the lathe and cut the welded end off, then reweld when done.

Some cylinders can be disassembled by removing one of the fittings, and popping a retaining ring off the end of the shaft. It will then slide out. The ring 'snaps' back on, when you slide the rod back in.

Are you sure it's in the cylinder? The control vale run by the steering wheel could be the problem.
