Need advice on adding 3pt to a 720. It currently has a mower deck but not the 3pt. I realize it would be best to find a salvage unit but I need to know what all is involved. I don't have the second lever but do I need a different control valve? Is the rock shaft different on the 3pt models?

Sounds to me that you have a 720 Special for which the 3 point and rear PTO were options.  Also a single hydraulic lever that controlled both the front and rear hydraulics.
Yes the rock shaft is different on a 720 and a 720 Special.  The Special did not have the extra arm that the drop links hooked to for the 3 point.  Also would be missing the mounting bracket for where the lower lift arms attached to the tractor. Of course you need the drop links and lower links and I would also think that you need the anchor for the top link (3rd point) as I do not think they were on the 720 Special.
As far as having 2 levers on the hydraulics...yes you would need it if you wanted to control the front outlets and the rear lift for two items at the same time.  Your single lever now controls both ends so if you were using the belly mower, it would take care of that.  If you put a blade only on the back, still good.  A front blade only...good.  Now for example you wanted to mount a front and back blade at the same time, the single lever would lift and lower both at the same time...not so good.  The dual valves and piping come up available on E Bay and sometimes in the classified here to convert to a dual system.
Hope this helps.   Den

I looked at that Gary but it is missing the cylinder, hydraulic lines, and other stuff. I'm considering selling it in the spring, getting lazy the older I get.
