There is what looks like a transfer case that holds oil for the gears. I see where the fill plug is but for the life of me cant find the drain plug. This is a 6 speed not a hydro.
If someone knows where the drain plug is and how much to fill proper oil weight please let me know, I am still looking for a service manual for this machine, there seems to be a little grinding from time to time getting her into second gear. When I go into reverse first then 2nd gear it does not grind, so the first thing I want to do is change and fill oil then go from there, is it normal for the 6 speed to grind on 2nd gear ?

If it's grinding gears, you need to adjust the belt guides and make sure it has all of them Properly installed! Lift up seat and push clutch and brake down and watch pulleys. They have to come to a complete stop!!! Otherwise it will rake gears! No drain plug on the bevel gear box. You take out rear cover bolts out and loosen cover to drain.
5 different TT-10's,5 TT-18's Terra Tigers,B-10,2 B-207's,B-110,2 B-112's,HB-112,B-210,B-212,HB212,2 Scamp's & Homilite T-10. Still hunting NICE HB-112 & anything Terra Tiger & Trailers for them.

What do the belt guides look like ? I really need a service manual for this machine.
I see the the bolts you are talking about on the bevel box. I thought the grinding could have been from contaminated gear oil. Thank you

There is a drain plug down low on the ,,,,,hang on while I look in the book,,,,,right side.Draw bar mount might b blocking line of sight.Serviced the one I have here last summer,used regular weight gear oil. Shifter mec. seamed loose between gear shifting ,but got use to how it was ,and no big deal.

The bevel box is just a transfer box, the gears you shift are in the rear end of the tractor.  The belt that is driven by the BGB and goes to the transmission itself must stop prior to shifting or it will grind.  There should be guards on both ends of the belt, around the BGB pulley and around the backside of the pulley on the transmission.  When you pull the fill plug on the bevel gear box, it will have a dip stick on it.  You check the health of the gears by seeing how much slop you have when you try to turn the side pulley back and forth without actualy turning the drive shaft to the engine.  Mike

There was a lot of slack in the clutch rod that has that spring on it. Even when the nuts were tightened all the way to end of thread there was still too much play in the clutch so I used a few larger nuts as shims so spring works like it should. 33 years of usage so some metal parts are just worn. I am trying my best not to jerry rig everything but have to do this to get things working right. I am wondering if the raking of gears has to do with an improper clutch adjustment. I will have to keep effin with it until she doesnt rake, I just cringe when I hear gears grind,,,,god knows how many years it was grinding before I got it and now after 33 years I powder puff the thing
