Might also want to see www.simpletractors.com or www.michaelstractors.com.
There is an ongoing thread on michaelstractors website dealing only with AC/Simplicity 616, 620, 720 units. Some of these comments address a no spark, or intermittant spark issue, and how the issues were handled.

Check your coil and wires. I noticed the contacts on mine were quite corroded on mine a few years back.
