I have a 1985-ish Agco Allis T-816 lawn tractor.  It doesn't like to stay in 2nd gear nor reverse as it hits the shroud.  I was told the "fix" was literally to cut the shroud.  I'd like to put new gears in it but have no idea what type of transmission is in there or where I'd find gears.  If anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate the information.

Thanks!

I believe I bent the shifter on my 6216 rather than cut the shroud. It may just be that your shifter has become bent. The transmission was manufactured by Simplicity. Some parts might be NLA.

I think its an early/ mid 90's version, not a 1985 as previously thought.  I removed the shroud instead of cutting it.
