Got to change the oil in an Allis transformer at work yesterday, the plant I'm in now is a nuclear chemical plant so no phones allowed so I didn't get any pics, its not even quarter the size of the one in my last photo but it still held 900 gallons of oil.

I'm only about 45 minutes away from Laporte IN. Here at work we had a Quality guy that said he worked at Allis for 10 years before they closed. He told me this story.
Someone overseas (Africa?) bought a couple self propelled cotton pickers. They had trouble twisting off the finals or something so they try to get past the language barrier and ship them correct parts. The owners sent them a picture of the picker , with all of the picker parts off, armor plating on the sides with a standing platform on top and some big gun mounted on it. He said no wonders they were breaking stuff with all that weight. He said he had the picture somewhere at home but I never got to see it.
