Well, a WD45 would be a lot better than a WD for 2 reasons.....more HP and a slower low gear. Anything you do to increase a WD's HP will cost $$$$$.

Get a wd45 motor and 18.4-28 tires. That's what I'm pulling with right now, I'm not winning any championships but I run up there with the rest if them. If you decide your looking for a wd45 let me know I've got one I can hook you up with on a decent price with 18.4-28 tires in ok shape and a GOOD motor. It's stock but its got loads of power for those tires!

Either change the tires, drop a combine engine in it or change out the rear end gear. Or any combo of above.

I have a built combine engine, cam and everything, a complete engine, ready to bolt in, we were keeping it for a spare. We out grew it and have decided we are not building a second tractor. If you interested let me know, also I have a set of nice 16.9x26 on 8 bolt wheels. With that engine and those tires we never had a power issue even at 5500#.

Get a weight bar on the front, and keep moving weights until you are either winning or having fun, whichever comes first!

id tell you to put a wc trans in place of the hand clutch to gear it down to run those 38s but some people on here think its stupid. Do you pull in a speed limit class?

Can I put those 38's on my D17? Think they would do better than my 16.9x28's?
