I am creating this post to document my process of adapting wheels to my tractor. Some people use adapters, I chose to weld in a new center because its lighter and I like the looks better. Right or wrong, I am commited now.
Here is a picture of the wheels and tires as advertised. I decided on 16.9x34 because they offer the largest foot print in the classes i will be pulling in and should work well with my gearing and rpm. and of course the old hard and sharp tread. The 9 bolt pattern wont work on my tractor and the centers are set too deep so a cutting we go. Here is the first step with the tires removed and the center out. boy were those tires on there!! With the center out i can cut out the 9 holes and insert my custom 6 hole center disk. I had 6 hole center made by my machinist friend and the 9 holes removed at a machine shop so it would be centered and clean. friends machine didnt have a big enough throat/ swing Center disk tacked in. Checking trueness? and depth of rim on tractor. UC's have a reputation for being very wide so im going as narrow as possible. about two inches clearence between tire and brake housing. I have measured the width at the wheels with tires fully mounted at 92 inches. my brothers wc is 89 inches so not to shabby i thought. Before the wheel center goes back on the rim i have to repair the holes cut where the center was removed. Since I was cleaning the final drive up and installing new seals, i laid it over and mounted the center then installed the rim to final depth and spun it checking to see how true it was before i made it solid. apparently i didnt get a pic mounted. In my haste to get them done, i didnt snap a picture of welding the centers to the rim. Picture after sandblasting and painting black. Pictures on the tractor to come very soon i hope. I have the rims on and tires mounted but would like to get tractor outside for a good picture. Will share more tractor details then. ok i found this picture i had of the tires and rims mounted but im a little embarrassed by all the junk laying around lol. still a work in progress. all the bolts and alignment dowel are not it, i still had to pull the left final at this time. i would keep a eye on them for cracks' you did a nice job' but welding on them takes the temper out of the rims ' some times it will bust out next to the weld.

I am not familiar with that name but my family only moved to the area in '92 and Abilene is our town rival so I never really associated with them much. I have the iron for wheelie bars and front bracket, friend and I are going to throw them together tonight. going to wait on the hitch as im still looking at examples and very short on time..... nothing like last minute
