We have a 220 and 200 now and are wanting to just play around in some farm stock classes at our local county fairs.  We don't have a 210 at the moment but if that would make a better puller one could be found.  There isn't any orange in our county and we bleed orange and would like to bring some color back to the pull.

Weight classes are the following 8500#, 11,000# and 14,000# all are 4 mph speed limit.  My question is can the 220 make the 11,000# class if you strip the 3 point, pto and possibly the front cast?  If not would you load 220 up for 14,000# class or would the 220 get spanked.  I know some say the 220 is too heavy but it is my favorite Allis we own.

Where does the 200 fit in, can you pull them an be competitive against red and green?

I know there are lots of variables just trying to get a little direction from someone with experience.  Never pulled tractors before just trucks and wanted to start a project with the kids.

I pull an Allis 200 in the 8500 to 10500 classes and do well against the red and green guys , you just have to set them up right, a friend pulls a 210 with the front cast out but still has 3 point , lightest class they can pull is 12000 , they pull up to 16000 with the 210 and do very well , but you have to spend some time and money on the motor to do that , good luck and keep bleeding orange

The only real difference between a 220 and a 210 is the front casting(unless a late 220). The 210 has the lighter hollow front casting. Performance wise, either one can be built to perform the same. 11,000# will take some work, but I'd think the front casting is where I'd try lightening it. My 210 is still on cast centers, and stock front axle/front casting, but pto/3pt  removed and with no weights it's about 10,800. The 200/190XT tractors can be very competitive in lighter classes, say up to 10,000, but much more than that it's hard to compete with 1066's, and 4430's! 190/200 needs to be in a class with 4020's and 806's.

Does anyone know what the front cast weighs on the 220?  Do guys replace the frame rails?   Thinking about running the 220 in the 14,000# class and update turbo, pump and injectors?

What turbos are guys having luck with.  I saw on another post that someone was using a 8550 or 4w-305 turbo with a lot of luck.  Does anyone know what turbos they had in them?  I did some researching but must of not been the right place.

We have a 190 and 200 also, we are  thinking about setting them up for the 8500# class. Will the 200 hang in the 11,000# class or should be keep in the 8500# class. (might have to do the same turbo, pump and injectors)

We have a 1970 220 if that helps with anything.  I believe it has a T04 turbo and just a roosa master pump.

If you get ahold of Ed he can set you up with what you need to run with the red and green guys , I do good in the 10500 class with my 200 against the bigger red and green ones , just have to remember not to go crazy on the turbo, better to run something a little smaller that you can still keep alive in the lower rpms, you need to be able to have the power at the end to keep going and spin out not fall under the turbo, works great for me

We run a s300 on the 210 from Ed , need to make custom pipes from turbo to intake, will need to get the bigger inter cooler intake , moves more air easy

210/220 tractors with the proper tweaking love to run 14,000 # classes. I've got several here now I'm doing for customers already, not sure I can even get to another big project before this season starts. There is no one who does what I do with the Roosa though.

Ed is your guy when it comes to a fuel system for a 426. We pull a 210 that Ed has given a little love to and many times we can out do a much hotter red or green tractor. 4mph will b your friend.

I pulled mine in 11,000 all the time in 10 MPH classes (6th gear). Homemade front support with an extended from weight bracket as an integral part of it. Lost 800+ pounds.  Rear cast wheels with cut 20.8 x 38 BFG radials. No 3 point or PTO. Always was able to balance it as it weighed 10,600 lbs with me in the seat.

OOpps   The complete hydraulic valve stack and console was also removed. Who needs hydraulics when going down the track ??

Seems like a lot of work and money for a 4 mph speed limit, but I abhor speed limits at pulls other than antiques and even then I don't care for them.

4mph is the deciding factor here, it wont take much to run that. If you can get down to 11,000 with the 220, great, but if not it will run just fine in the 14,000 class. I had my 210 down to around 8100 at one point, but that was aluminum wheels and what not. Still had hydraulic pump though.

Be nice to be able to run 4th gear with 20.8's at 2800 RPM near the end of the hook weighing 14,000 pounds. That would be churning the tires at 5.7 MPH.
