Looking to start a 190xt build. Looking on what are the best options so far for these tractors. So far I'm looking at getting a d17 front end. Strip this thing of everything possible. 38s on steel wheels. Now what exactly do I do with this power director. Evidently I don't need it but which would I go with high or low or maybe I'm asking it the wrong way. I just want to use clutch as a clutch. 4 pad disc with tighter springs I take it. Now the 301. What can this thing handle. I guess I'm looking at 7080 injectors or is there aftermarket ones. Pump. Can a p pump be adapted to this thing or can that rotary be touched and pump like crazy. Any ideas on hitch building. Where and how. Rpms i m guessing 3000 will be sufficient. Help me please.

What you build is determined by what class you want to pull.  Read the rules and go from there.

All depends on what rules are. I have a 200 that runs pretty good I'm pulling 7th gear 7500 and 8500 lbs.

Lose the heavy cast iron front support under the radiator and build a hollow one and still use the XT front axle by cutting off the excess tube inside. An in-line "P" series injection pump and injectors and lines and transfer pump will cost you $5,000 or more, and then you have to mount it on the engine. I can build you a Power Director clutch eliminator for less than $1,000. The foot clutch type depends on what you do with the engine. Until you actually have a plan on which class and what kind of Rules you will be pulling under, advice is hard to give. Specify if you want to spend $2,000 or $10,000.

The Roosa pumps can be built up, along with custom injectors, and lines, and they will run pretty good for a farm class type of pull. You want to go big, with multi chargers, open rpm super-stock type class, then P pump is mandatory. If you want 180hp, then the 7080 nozzles are good enough, any more, you need to get stuff properly built up.

Well I think I'm going to go with farm stock. Just get this thing as light as possible and see how much power I can get out of this engine. What can this roosa pump do

Anything you need for farm stock. Just depends on your budget, and other supporting upgrades you're willing to do.

Years ago ( 35 years to be exact) I set up a friend with a pulling pump and pulling injectors(7080 tips) on a 180 that had a 200 turbo on it. Every Summer he would change out the pump and injector assemblies, change rear tires/wheels, install pulling drawbar and weight racks, install water/alcohol injection system and go pulling for the Summer. When Fall came around, it got turned back into a Farm tractor. For a beginner puller, this would be a good plan. Both your clutches have to be in good shape.

Like said above. Read your local clubs rules. Half of what you mentioned will exclude you from farmstock and bump you probably to hot farm. Read the rules, and get a game plan from there.

190xter that's an early picture of mine its got a stock 301 for now hope to pull this week end it weighs 5500 with me on it and right on a 70 % rear weight hope to have some better picturs this weekend once were done for the year the pump and injectors go to injpump ed to shake things up
