d262 engine cam timing diesel

   I have a Allis Chalmers DD grader sn#2564 with d262 diesel engine.  We did not take engine apart.  We are having trouble with the cam timing.  we have engine manual for engine but our cam gear has mulitple timing marks.  any help would be appreciated.we have located several pics but crank key way and cam gear dowel pin seem to be in different locations
