i want to get the engine bored out on my allis chalmers b-12 engine since they don't make the oversized pistons for it any more and i was wondering if anyone else had there engine bored out and what measurements i would need to send it to a machine shop to bore it out to a 14hp?

Machining prices and parts prices vary widely. Do you want to use B&S parts or aftermarket? My local guy gets $30 to bore a 1 cyl, $35 to turn a single cyl crankshaft, $25 to do the valves and lap them int, $10 to surface the head, while some large shops might not want to even touch a job like this. Since your taking so much more out of the bore in this case, there may be additional cost. |
