7040 temp gauge reads strait up soon as key is turned on and stays there and the fuel gauge reads empty.  Does this cluster share a ground wire some where?  somewhere both gauges are connected?

Yes, on the back of the gauge is a black ground wire.

But still its a mystery to me as how to easily arrive at the back of those gauges? Id like to get in there myself. Thanks.

I too am having issues with my fuel gauge 7060.

I would guess my cluster is Ok, my issues started with a fire that spread from the center rear of the tractor forward under the cab.

I assume my ground wire for the fuel sender is where my issue is, yet, when I jumper a ground, it still doesn't seem work

Question:   is the ground on the gauge unrelated to the ground on the sender unit?
IE// two separate wires?

Yes, I believe that there are two separate wires. I think that the one for the actual sending unit is just a short black wire that hooks to a nearby bolt.
