    Posted: 04 Aug 2012 at 2:22pm
Back has been bothering me so the 20-35 hasn't seen daylight since April. The other day I picked up a flat belt so I can start it with the WF, should have done it that way all along. Here is a pic of our youngest driving it around the yard warming it up.

I'd love to see that belted up to a Baker fan or a Prony brake!

I will be bringing my dyno to the local threshing show next weekend so the guys can play with it but we don't have anything for the old ones like this without PTOs.

Lonnie, you need to build an attachment like we have at our show. A framework wit a belt pulley that drives an 1 3/8 spline. You hook up the PTO and then belt your tractor up to itSmile

Very Nice Lonnie!  I'm on a hunt for one of them 20-35's.  I want to get into the older stuff more now.   One of these trips home to Ashland, I'm going to have to take the scenic route, and stop in and visit you and your collection (if you'd like a visitor).  That and I've been meaning to stop at the tractor yard in Barnesville, so I could hit that on the same "detour".  Maybe this fall sometime?

Charlie, I'd like to see a picture of your belt attachment.

Jacob, I'm always up for a visit from tractor guys.

Come to think of it, I think there is something like that at the Rollag MN show, I'll have to check it out when I go.

Lonnie, I know they have one at the Almelund show if you go to that one.

I've wanted to make it to that show and the one at Blackberry but they are the same weekend as our local show. Just not enough weekends in August it seems.

Excellent!  I'll keep you posted when I figure out when I'll be going home again.  Usually I take a week off in September some time, for one last chance to work on my toys back home before winter sets in.  Lets tentatively plan for that.  I'm looking forward to it alreadySmile

Charlie and Lonnie, here's a picture of the belt attachment that was used at the Mt. Pleasant show.  Whoever built it did a fine job.  I intended to go back later and measure the diameter of the belt pulley, but we got busy with other things (carousel, train, sandbox, LOL...).

That looks like a really slick outfit and simple to build. I saw one this weekend at a show that was way more clumsy looking than that one and he had 3 different size belt pulleys on it for different size steam engines. He said he switches to which ever pulley he can get 540 PTO speed from the steam engine. On his it was a major job (hours) to switch from belt to PTO unlike the one you have pictured.
