8070 had 14. 8010, 8030, and 8050 had 10. Maybe you could have ordered them with a wide bracket, but for the most part tjis is what they came with.

While on the subject, what should I charge someone for a full set of 14 weights, plus bracket and hardware? Thanks, Darrel

I ran a 14-weight bracket (only!) up to $200 this December at an auction and did not get it.

Slightly off subject, but has anyone noticed how much easier it is to put the front weights on an 8000 compared to many other tractors???  No need to raise them up to chest level to hook them over a bracket.

In another life, I worked with a guy running a mean MM 1050 LP tractor in pulling contests.  He ran both 9000 and 12000 lb classes.  That meant lifting a lot of weights.  I made a point of designing in a front weight mounting system that did not require so much lifting.

Well thanks for that Mark!!!!! I always thought that was a real smart location for the weights on the 8000. And another good thing about the 8000 weight, the pullers dont hog all of them up like off of the 210s,200s.

I too like their location, but I wish they would have put the handle on the top.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I actually prefer the 7000 weights.  I find the 100# 8000 weights awkward finger-pinchers to handle, too heavy and they also require the extra work of installing the safety strap at the rear if you don't want them coming off on a rough road and bending the pickup on your new round baler.

Most of all, I really wish the bracket had been further ahead to protect the grille when no weights are installed.  Nearly every 8000 has grille damage.

Another nice touch would have been to have the A-C logo embossed on BOTH sides of the weight.

A few years ago I tried to buy a set off of a 7030 before it went to the scapyard and they wanted a $1000 w/o the bracket.
I'd think an 8000 series set would be worth conciderably more. I'd bet 1/2 the 8000 series you see for sale don't have front weights, but I don't remember any new ones without full weights, where did all those weight go? LOL

Russ-neia, I agree with you. The AC should have been cast into each side. Myself, the best looking AC weights are the thin weights of the 200, 210, and 220. For the rear, I like the looks of the pie weights of the 190/200 and the CA's. It took some thinking on those to get all of the cutouts spots in the right places.

I too think the 8000 weights are a PITA to remove and install.  Also 427435, did you ever think of making the FWA steering ram heavier or using two of them?  We have had trouble with ours needing the bushing re-done every couple years.

All were available with either bracket.  Almost all I have seen have the 14 bracket.  My dad bought a new (and still has) 8030 FWA with 14 weights.

Sorry that you find the weights difficult to remove and install.  I did it a few times and thought it was a lot easier then the IH or 7000 style.  With the extended upper lip, you can just get it close and lower the weight until the lip catches and then slide it all the way in--------------all at a height that doesn't require arm strength to lift.

I don't recall any issues with the FWA steering ram--------------what front tires and rear tires are you using and at what wheel tread setting??

18.4-38 and 13.6-28 at 68 inches I think or whatever the spacing is with the wheels dished out.  Just seems to take alot of beating on that joint.
