I have a 1975 AC-185. It has a very leaky external hydraulic control valve assembly. I've found someone at haderind.com that says they can rebuild it. Also, heavy implements raised on the lift ease down over time, say 30 seconds or so. Is it likely that rebuilding the control valve will correct this issue as well?

There isn't any "rebuilding" to that valve stack, only resealing it to stop the leaks. The 3-point hitch settling might be helped by tightening the valve at the rear of that valve tighter. It has a roll pin handle on it. Strike the end of it and try to tighten it with a hammer and punch. Using your position control lever will keep the hitch from settling if you use it correctly.

Thanks, well do you recommend I ship the assembly to haderind.com to have the "seals" replaced or is that something a local shop could do?

If they claim to be experienced on the A-C (Husco brand) valve stacks, they would be far better than someone who "says" they can do it for you. Do you have an AGCO dealership near you ??

I resealed the valve body on my 190 5 years ago. AGCO has a kit with everything you need. First time I did it. Took my time and worked off a big, clean bench in case any parts when flying - none did though. Still working good to this day.
